Die Game Awards 2015 – Alle Videospiele im Überblick

Insgesamt schauten über 2,3 Millionen Menschen live via Twitch oder YouTube zu, wie am 3. Dezember in Los Angeles die besten, erfolgreichsten und beliebtesten Spiele im Rahmen der Game Awards ausgezeichnet wurden. Dieser Zuschauerzuspruch zeugt von der großen Relevanz der Award Show.

Soziale Netzwerke explodierten

Auch die Beteiligung in den sozialen Netzwerken war riesengroß. Die Game Awards 2015 trendeten mit über einer Milliarde Impressionen auf Twitter mit dem Hashtag #TheGameAwards, was eine Verdopplung gegenüber dem Vorjahr bedeutete.

Nun aber ohne Umschweife zu den Auszeichnungen. Der große Gewinner des Abends war „The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt“, das bereits im Vorfeld zu den großen Favoriten gezählt worden war. „The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt“ räumte mit dem den wichtigsten Award des Abends („Game of the Year“) und den Award für das „Best Role Playing Game“ ab. Keine große Überraschung und wohlverdient.

„Splatoon“ Überraschung des Abends

Eine kleine Überraschung war hingegen, dass Nintendos Wii U-Game "Splatoon" ebenfalls zwei Awards mit nach Hause nehmen konnte. Nämlich in den Kategorien „Best Shooter“ und „Best Multiplayer“. Dabei war gerade in der Kategorie „Best Shooter“ die Konkurrenz mit „Call of Duty: Black Ops 3“ und „Star Wars Battlefront“ nicht gerade unbedeutend.

Auch die Entwickler von „The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt“ CD Projekt Red, wurden ausgezeichnet und nahmen den prestigeträchtigen Award für den besten Spieleentwickler des Jahres („Developer of the Year“) entgegen.

eSports auf dem Vormarsch

Und nicht nur Spiele und deren Entwickler wurden ausgezeichnet. Auch der immer mehr an Bedeutung gewinnende Bereich des eSports wurde mit drei Kategorien bedacht. eSports sind inzwischen so populär, dass man auf diversen Websites auf die Ausgänge von ausgewählten Events Online Wetten setzen kann.
„eSports Game of the Year“ wurde „Counter Strike: Global Offensive“, „eSports Player of the Year“ wurde Kenny „KennyS“ Schrub und „eSports Team of the Year“ wurde „Optic Gaming“.

Alles in allem war die zweite Ausgabe des Game Awards ein voller Erfolg und dürfte demnach im nächsten Jahr auf jeden Fall fortgesetzt werden. Hier noch einmal alle Kategorien, Nominierten und Gewinner im Überblick:
